[dundee] Problem finding my desktop

Hello Malcolm,

normally the Desktop folder begins with a capital D. The command
cd desktop is not the same like cd Desktop, so check if you key in the  
command correct into the shell.

How looks the output of ls ~/ ? Or try the command cd ~/Desktop
