Heh, you beat me to that answer :-)

On the other hand, recycling them in an environmentally responsible
way would be good (after the sledgehammer treatment, which is tricky
for me because I don't own a sledgehammer nor know anyone with one).
They presumably contain metals which are both dangerous (lead,
cadmium) and worth recycling (copper, gold)?
