I don't know if anyone is interested in the following BCS (British
Computer Society) meeting. I am a member so I get notified of them all,
this one looks particularly interesting.
If anyone wants to go from Letchworth/ Stevenage/ Welwyn area I'd be
happy to provide a lift. The venue is right next door to Buncefield
depot (we had several meetings last year with wood sheets instead of
windows). Free entry to all.

VIRTUALISATION

Venue: Steria Limited, Hemel Hempstead

Hardev Sanghera, Systems Engineer, VMware Corporation

Server Virtualisation is arguably one of the hottest topics in IT today.
Hardev will introduce the topic, explaining how server virtualisation works
in general, where it is applicable in the IT environment, and, most
importantly, what the business benefits are. Concepts such as encapsulation,
live workload migration and virtualised desktops will also be discussed.
