This reminds me. Dave was talking about apt-get and some held packages.

As it happens, I was doing some reading yesterday and apparently, apt-get update will mark packages as held if the updated package has new dependencies which require the installation of extra packages.

Running apt-get dist-upgrade will install the extra packages automagically, apparently.
