[Hudlug] No route to host from ftp

On the uni network - you telnet to 'helios' ftp out from there, do
whatever you need then from your workstation you ftp to helios to get
the files. Not ideal - go ask the support fellas end room on CW2.

I've not found a better way yet, but I've not looked for one ;)

Well, I discovered  the problem  is the proxy.

How do I bypass it? Is it there a way of configuring the ftp client in a
way 
that the can pass through the proxy?
