Hi all,

I hope you all found last night's meeting useful. It was great to see
new faces and some people who haven't been for a while. Many thanks to
Paul for giving his presentation on QEmu.

Information from last night's meeting is available from
http://www.hudlug.org.uk/wiki/4_April_2005 - including my slides, and I
believe Paul said he would also put his slides there.

There were a couple of problems with the venue; I had intended for us to
go downstairs, but there was no table for us to sit things on, so we
ended up upstairs. The music was a little loud and things got a bit busy
later on.

However, I spoke to Bhav (the manager) and he's keen for us to meet at
Vox and said he would be more then happy to organise putting a table
downstairs and also putting the heater on (it can be a little cold down
there, especially in the winter!). I'll also try to remember to bring my
projector to the next meeting; it was a little crowded around a laptop.

We're on the look out for volunteers to present at the next meeting on
2nd May. If you are interested in talking, there are a couple of useful
things that Paul and I found;

 * it's easy to organise - both mine and Paul's presentations took very
little time to write.

 * you don't need to be an expert to talk about things. I'm no expert in
Asterisk or VoIP, but it was quite easy to knock together a brief
presentation and give it.

 * keep it short. I expected my presentation to be over in about 10
minutes; with questions from other people it took around 50. Paul found
the same! If you are doing a presentation with slides, aim for around 10
slides of content.

If you are willing to volunteer, please add the information to the wiki
under the http://www.hudlug.org.uk/wiki/2_May_2005 page, or mail the
list and one of us will add it for you. If you don't have an account to
edit the Wiki, please mail the list or get in touch with one of us via
IRC.

See you next month!

Cheers,

Andrew
