[Hudlug] recompiling gnome speech

maybe I will be best sorting this at a future meeting as I still have a 
lot to learn.
I assume that for something like this I may need an available Internet 
connection anyway and I am not sure if to do this stuff, I need to set 
certain things in Ubuntu for doing this..
