I suppose getting Internet, email and Office applications working with
Orca might be a priority.
I know VI works fairly well although I might need to do a bit more
experimenting with the Orca keystrokes when it comes to actually writing
text although it is navigable with the up and down arrows when reading
lines which is a start.
I think most applications in Gnome which Ubuntu installs by default are
fully or at least fairly accessable from what I have seen although I
wasn't able to use Sound Juicer while playing CDs, possibly because the
sound card on my laptop either isn't multi channel or only works with
one channel in Ubuntu and I got an error message when trying to run
Totem because it came up with some error message about Internet connection.
