I'm afraid I can't be much help. I have the Planet CCRMA Fedora Core 
1 installation which gives one the 2.4 kernel with all low latency 
patches and a vast selection of audio software without having to go 
into it deeply. I am still not using anything professionally as I 
have not found the necessary mix of software to do what is necessary. 
Also I know nothing about live streaming! The Planet CCRMA mailing 
list at  http://ccrma-mail.stanford.edu/mailman/listinfo/planetccrma 
is very responsive to requests for help.
