Hi David,

Firstly, it would be wise to join the mailing list before posting - email 
addresses not on the list get caught and it is only by chance that I saw that 
a message was waiting for action.

As for ftp, which ftp server have you got installed?

There are a number available, the one I have used in the passed is proftp.

This will need installing. I think you also have the wrong command, chown 
changes ownership on a file, information about a command can generally be 
found with "man" or "info". I find "man" easier to use, however info can 
contain more information, especially if it is a GNU application.
