I've got one of the original Asus EEE PCs, which is pretty good for what 
I use it for - mainly as a portable music/video player. The sound is 
really good for such a small machine and the keyboard is perfectly 
usable. I haven't done any hacking on it because I do most of my work at 
home on my main laptop, and it's still running the linux system which 
came with it. Everything works pretty nicely for the limited things I do 
with it. Not sure what the newer ones are like - the screen is bigger 
but they moved the speakers inside the case I think which isn't so good 
from my point of view.
