My personal domain has been routing though gmail for a few years now.
I instantly went from a few 1000 spam per day to almost zero. Using
google apps I also us it to provide a pop box for my sister, which I
found really simple to set-up.

Some of my clients have gone from using the likes of M$ Exchange to
controlling their commercial email though google apps too and I've
heard only positive things.
