Linux is not flawed here though. The flaw is that there is not a
functional driver for some hardware device and many other alternatives
exist. I agree that it is worth persuing development on a driver though my
question was aimed at trying to understand why you are using this card.

Which segmentation faults are these then? I tried looking on sourceforge
and there seems to be some experimental stuff there - what works?
