What card do you have installed now?

This here basically means that it wasn't able to initialise the driver,
whatever it is.

Framebuffer support has to be compiled into your kernel as far as I
know. It may be that you already have it compiled in and just need to
activate it by putting a line similar to "vga=791" (1024x768)in your
lilo or grub config. If you are running lilo you need to run 'lilo' at
the boot prompt to activate your changes.

If after this you bootup to a black screen with no text, you probably
don't have support built into your kernel and will need to recompile.
