Lots of good points Ian, and I'm sorry that my comments have stopped the development of the Slug Geeklog site.

As you say a few new posts have been made regarding this subject and need to born in mind.  On Wednesday's IRC meet, Paul suggested a possible alternative to Geeklog which I think should be investigated.  However for the moment, I agree with Jamie that the regular site needs to be updated to show that we're still alive to the outside world.

Ian.  One of the points you raised was being able to search through past postings to the list.  Maybe you're unaware that an archive is available at http://mailman.lug.org.uk/pipermail/scarborough this is searchable by date, thread, subject etc, and is one of the things I'd like to see linked to the site.

At this point I'd like to list the sort of thing I want to see on the site.  So in no particular order.

Calender.
Mailing list.
Mailing list archive.
Survey.
Survey results.
IRC meet details.
Members sites.
Getting Linux.  (to include the distro's available from Slug)
Glossary of Terms.  (this can be a link to one of the many existing ones if necessary)
Help.
Links. (stuff like Li.counter.org, glue etc)
Next Meeting details.  (Including map etc.)
Write ups of previous talks.
Suggestions/requests for talks.
Member submitted articles.  (Things like)
	Distro reviews.
	App reviews.
	Book reviews.
	Tutorials.
	Favourite aliases?
	Usefull scripts etc.
	Script language articles.
	Higher level programming language articles.

Much of this already exists or has been talked about in the past.  Other people will want to see other subjects as well.  This is just my list, so if we want to see the site develop in a way that pleases us.  I think everyone needs to put something like this together for Ian, Paul, Jonathon or anyone else who gets involved in the site, to work with.
