Hi Matt,

While I'll make no guarantee's that this will work I do hope It'll help you. I have two accounts set up using kppp, but didn't use the wizard as it seems to be limited to a list of four ISP's. Three from Demon and Freeserve. I went straight for the dialogue set up which is simple enough to use.

Having chosen this you'll be looking at dialogue box starting with the 'dial setup' tab.

Dial Setup:

Connection name: (this can be anything as its your reference to your ISP, 'Tiscalli' should do fine.)

Phone Number: (Use the 'Add' button to the right here, enter the number without spaces.)

Authentication: (I'd guess your probably like mine and use PAP.)

Its up to you if you chech the store password box or not.

IP setup:

I've checked the radio button for Dynamic IP Address. Thats all here.

Gateway Setup:

'Default Gateway' and 'assign default route to this gateway' checked.

DNS Servers:

Domain name: (Mine is www.firenet.uk.com, use what evers applicable to Tiscalli.)

Configuration: check 'automatic'. Thats all here.

Login Script:

This is all blank for me.

Execute:

Again all blank.

Accounting:

Again all blank.

On the kppp launcher you'll see; (You may need to close and open the launcher again.)

Connect to: (This should now read Tiscalli, or whatever you chose for a connection name.)

Login ID: (Enter the login name supplied by your ISP here.)

Password: (Enter password.)

This is all I've had to edit to get kppp working.

When you try to connect next, check the 'Show log Window' box. If it still fails to connect post the output from here to the list for further help.

Well, you asked for the idiots guide! :) I know what you mean though, all to often things simply aren't clear.

Regards.

Al.

BTW. In case you don't know, to copy click with the left mouse button to highlight text and click with the middle or both L and R buttons together to paste. :)
