[SLUG] Shockingly, the scanner almost works

Hi y'all

The scanner almost works now, after the successful (thanks Steve)
installation of Sane.

However.

You knew there was a however, right?

Kooka, the KDE scanning device available in the Gnu menu gives me a choice
of /dev/scanner and /dev/sg1. I chose /dev/scanner and it seems to work
and hasn't wrecked my scanner.

The Gimp used to have a choice for scanning, and that's gone now. Any
clues how I might be able to get it back?
