Hi ppl

So tomorrow is the last day of the library display. Bob, I topped up
the Linux Challenges today .. have you been taking completed ones out
of the box or have the forms just been disappearing without being
completed? Might you, perhaps, bring them with you to the meeting on
Monday.

Meeting, Monday! Good grief, almost forgot.

I asked the Cruelty Free Christmas Fair people whether we could move
our stand up with them, and they said is was all booked up now. I
asked the library people whether we could move our stand into the
foyer, and they said the CFCF was spilling out into there anyway so
maybe but probably not. So we'll just have to hope people wander into
the library after, which the assistant said people do do.

Anyway, it finishes at 4, so I'll turn up probably around 3 to see the
fair and then to take away our stuff.

If any of you are out of town and haven't noticed, the continental
market's in town too and certainly the fair organisers think it'll be
there tomorrow although I did notice one of the market stall holders
shouting "zis is de last time", whatever that meant.

Anyway, the Fair details are below, and see you on Monday evening at
the Valley Bar, 7:30.

Cheers
J

Scarborough's first Cruelty-Free Christmas Fair will take place
upstairs in Scarborough Library, Vernon Road, Scarorough from 11am to
4pm on Sunday 11 December.

Fun seasonal activities will include:

  - Creative craft workshops for all ages

  - A film room

  - Music and dance

  - Christmas shopping at the craft and gift stalls

  - Vegetarian cookery demonstrations, and a chance to pick up free
vegetarian recipe booklets

  - (Best of all?) - Try a wide variety of free vegetarian food samples!

The Fair's organiser Helen Whitehead says:

"The aim of the fair is to celebrate compassion at Christmas, and
raise awareness about how people can do their bit to have a
Cruelty-Free Festive Season. A major part of this is eating more
vegetarian and vegan food, avoiding buying products made from or
tested on animals and not buying pets as presents. This not only helps
animals, but the health of people and the environment too. Everyone
working at the fair is volunteering, so this is a real community event
made possible by the passionate wish of many to make the world a
better place. We want to show that we make can all make a difference
by quite simply using our consumer power to make positive change."
