The Free Libre & Open Source Software In Education conference in Bolton.
It is a conference about, er, free and open source educational
software!!

An open source virtual learning environment which you can tailor for
your own particular establishment. Looks fantastic. I work at
Northallerton College which serves students 14 yrs old and upwards so we
have a diverse range of users and needs. To find open source solutions
is, to my sad little mind, a fabulous way forward. I sometimes feel that
we are teaching a product rather than the concepts in ICT.

Why not! I understand that the Wensleydale School in Leyburn use a
mixture of Windows, Linux, proprietary and open source software so
probably worth a chat that way. You might even be able to persuade a
company or college who are upgrading to donate older equipment which has
outlived its Windows days but would get a new lease of life by being
penguined!
