[SLUG] Meetings

Well done Bob

I'm afraid I haven't been attending meetings for along time because I'm
too busy with other things. I've been lurking in background for yonks
and have played around with Linux for around ten years, to a greater or
lesser extent. Now I use Linux 100% for everything. I still have a
Windows partition on my desktop computer but haven't been into it for at
least six months and that was only for mapping software for which there
is no open source equivalent. I now use use Ubuntu because I find it the
easiest to set up, the least hassle to update and the easiest to find a
very large range of software pre-compiled and guaranteed to work.
Synaptic/apt sorts out and downloads all the dependencies for you so you
don't have to worry. For beginners and those who just want to get on and
use it, it is probably the best choice.

Good luck with the meetings. If I get time I will pop along but won't
promise anything.
