Eek! I don't know what it's like now, but the last time I tried demo'ing it
to a Linux newbie, it was segfaulting all over the shop.

I've heard good things about Synaptic:
<http://shrike.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=404>. Yes, it uses Connectiva's apt
port to RPM (rather than dpkg as in Debian).
