Thanks for the tip.

I found some unusual dependencies for packages I
wanted to uninstall.  There was no obvious way to reset
it once I had listed something to uninstall (even deleting
the configuration files in my home directory did not help).

But it did tell me that I would save 49.8 Mbyte.  Having just
installed a new 36G I decided that these unnecessary files
would be the first contribution to bloat on this drive :-)
