Probably.. If there is only on device on the second channel then it
really should be Master...

I did have some very strange issues booting a Debian CD as well... Would
only boot on the first CD. In this case the Primary slave. Machine had 3
cd drives! W2K would boot on any.. But then after installing Beta2 of
Sarge I had to edit the fstab to add the two other drives.. Beta3 I had
to add all 3!!
