There was a brief discussion on this mailing list recently about
the feasibility of building a customised Linux distribution. So...

The latest issue of "Linux User and Developer" magazine (available
in W.H. Smiths in Broad Street in Reading and probably elsewhere)
has an article that evaluates several tools for building customised
Linux distributions. The article is only a few pages long, so it
won't be detailed enough to be comprehensive, but it might provide
a useful introduction.
