[Wolves] laptop battery short

I eventually got laptop screen fixed, well actually swopped it. Anyway, battery life is cak. Get 1 hour 
max. I've been reading about APM and ACPI, and the lap i have is ACPI, and Mandrake 9 doesn't impliment 
it (tho i hear 9.1 does)

I've read a bit, and it seems like one big reason why juice go down is because the hardrive deosn't spin 
down, and hdparm can be used to do this. Anyone got any advice on extending lappy batteries?
