[Blackpool] 3D printer emissions

Hi James,Yes I think you are right with the acetone, but the smell from boiling it screams bad things, come round to my kitchen to get high as a kite or a damn good headache probably both. Perhaps the fact that I was breathing in vapour that likely included ABS particles in it would be the biggest danger. My printer is entirely enclosed, to stabilise the heat and the graph in that article implied the enclosed printers like mine were the worst. Perhaps because the fumes can build concentration, but I wouldn't want an extractor, for ABS you need to keep the heat up.
The debate/talk was OK, there was a NAO robot, never seen one in the flesh/plastic. For a £10K robot it didn't distinguish itself, completely ignoring it's handler. But I still want one!
Don't forget there were two gunmen at San Bernardino, and note we are only hearing the FBI are having difficulty with the guy carrying an iPhone!!! The only way anyone can beat the encryption on this phone is by brute forcing the 4 character unlock code, which apparently can be made possible only because it's an older iPhone.
Regards
Arthur

Short of an extraction unit, I wonder if a crude enclosure with an adhesive base would provide a meaningful reduction in the potential for inhalation?

Having a single failure point seems short-sighted, if integrity of the OS’ security is paramount. Public sentiment is capricious at best and if I was a security-conscious iPhone owner I wouldn’t want to test Apple’s resolve against its share price in the event of a moral panic.

It’s a paper on the various emissions from 3D/FDM printers (particularly the Maker kind). You can skip the middle bit and go straight to section 3.5 if you want to get to the bones of it.
