The purpose of Manchester Free Software is to promote the Free Software
philosophy.

Every meeting we start with an opportunity for informal key signing.

The main part of the meeting will be a tutorial and discussion.

Blender is extremely powerful, robust and feature-full Free Software
that enables users to do 3D modelling including simulations and
animations.  But Blender is not limited to that, it can also do video
editing, games and more.  This tutorial will be on using Blender to do
video editing and aims to inspire participants to go on to use Blender
for their video editing and more.

The meeting will start with an introduction to Free Software, the
different video editing Free Software available and an overview of
Blender.  Then we will go into the full tutorial with discussion,
sharing and questions welcome as we go along.

To get the most out of the tutorial we recommend that you follow along
using Blender on a laptop, the higher the screen resolution the better.
 If you are using a GNU/Linux distro then we recommend you install
Blender using its package manager.  And, as long as your comfortable, we
recommend installing Blender from your distro's 'backports'.  This is
what the tutorial will be given on, Blender from 'jessie-backports'
which is version 2.74.  Alternatively you can download Blender from the
Blender website which has versions for Windows, Mac OS X and GNU/Linux.
 The latest version is available there, which is 2.77a and also previous
versions.  This latest version should be fine for following the tutorial
and we'll deal with any differences, if any, as they come up.

If you have experience of video editing with Free Software then please
consider giving a lightning talk at the meeting and/or adding to the
tutorial.

== After-meeting ==

The meeting will be followed by informal discussion and socialising in
the Terrace (which is next door to Madlab).  There are soft drinks
available and there is no pressure to consume alcohol.

Around the venue there are parking meter bays that become zero cost
after 8pm on Tuesday so you will have to pay up until then and the
maximum stay is 2 hours BUT MAKE SURE YOU VERIFY ALL THIS on parking.

There are paid parking lots around the venue, they are marked by a blue
