Hi folks,

I sent this to Dave instead of the list a couple of days ago. Yeah,
I'm always doing that. Anyway he thought that I should try again
until I get it right so here it is. Ho hum.

The Great Command Line Chill-out Trilogy In At Least One Part will be
an ongoing quest to take you far, far away from your mouse mat. Part
One will be entitled "Ey Up Whats All Them Dashes About Then". If
esteemed participants emerge with a new sense of clarity and
confidence, then this first sesh will have failed, because the aim is
to show you that commands and man pages really are confusing, and
therefore it's not your fault for being confused. There are three
ways of chilling out and coping with this damn mess: (1) understanding
what caused the mess; (2) knowing a bit more about the deep structures
of Linux; and (3) sharing coping strategies and sympathy with your
fellow Bradlug folk. All this in twenty mins max. It might need
quite a few more sessions until we're done :-/
