Yes, so it depends what you want to do with your laptop. Myself and Alice
discussed this when I was about to buy a laptop. He goes for a minimalist
desktop (crunchbang) and that fulfils all his needs, so a high spec (and
cost) laptop is not necessary. Therefore a refurbished laptop will do. I am
on the other side of the fence. I like a nice desktop that I can customise
to my own preferences. So it gives functionality as well as prettiness. I
also may need to process images and video occasionally so I need speed for
that. If I had bought a low spec laptop I would never have be satisfied.
