Hello Bradlug (Bradford Linux Group)

Hi I am Matthew from the PiNest Hub. John Hudson and few other People from the Group have been to see us at the University of Bradford where we are based.
We have been asked from a 4th year medical student if we can help her out with her Project.
Her Project is a monitoring Project using ECG via a Raspberry Pi. She as bought the equipment to use from a website http://www.cooking-hacks.com/documentation/tutorials/ehealth-biometric-sensor-platform-arduino-raspberry-pi-medical
I have helped her out by the stages that are set out on the website. I have come to the conclusion that this will not work on the Raspberry Pi without extra time and effort to write some coding.
We have bought an Arduino Uno Rev3 which this device was manufactured for in the first instance. I am having trouble with getting the Wifi shield to connect to my Phone so the data from the e-Health Sensor can be viewed
via the App that was developed to work alongside the e-Health Sensor. http://www.cooking-hacks.com/documentation/tutorials/ehealth-biometric-sensor-platform-arduino-raspberry-pi-medical#step5_5.
The problem is that using the example code the wifi shield should give out a signal “iPHONE-ADHOC” which my phone should make a connection between the device and phone, but it is not giving out the signal

My question that I am putting to the group is: - Is there anybody in the group that is familiar with Arduino and programming the Arduino and if so
Is there any chance of any info and help on the above matter.
