[Bradford] linux system admin

 Hi
I'm a Telecommunications Engineer by trade and looking to work towards becoming competent enough to be a Linux sys admin.
Have you got any advice on how to go about this ? We have some Linux based platforms for voicemail etc but don't get to do any admin on them. I've heard Linux + exam is possibly a good place to start.
Hoping to get down to next meeting at Bradford.
