[Bradford] Text not displaying in Raspberry pi desktop

HI Darren

That sounds like a missing font. Typically a console will have a fixed font 
whereas a desktop will have a variable width font - so they will almost 
certainly be using different fonts. It may simply be a case of editing the 
desktop settings to use an installed font.
