[Bradford] BCB Covid sort of update

Hello John

The move will still need to happen.

AFAIK, the plans to demolish the building, market, etc are still in place.
The new market is under construction and I think they hope to deliver it
on time.

We keep saying '2 years' is how long we have left in the building, but we
seem to have been saying that for a while!

(Personal musings, not BCB's line) I've been wondering out loud about
whether or not we should use this time as an opportunity to get out now,
save ourselves some rent and rates, and look at how we provide what we do
differently. The building does seem to pose a number of problems due to the
size of spaces, the way it is used, and the lack of ventilation. Bearing in
mind that a move under 'business as usual' conditions would have been hard
work, maybe it's easier under present conditions (to at least move out).
Dunno!

As an additional consideration. I'm not entirely sure (!?) whether current
covid restrictions in the district would mean that even if we we're 'covid
secure' people would be restricted to the numbers of households that could
meet indoors at one time - Maybe we could have lots of separate meetings in
the same room!

Cheers
David
