[Bradford] Wuthering Bytes

 The Festival day doesn't interest me much. I am interested in what goes on at the weekend. Having said that I applaud the people who set all this up, it really amounts to a shed load of work.
However, even the weekend topics don't really grab me. Building retro stuff is of no interest to me any more than are games. I am only interested in practical things that I will see are useful to me. For example, and sadly I missed it, there was once coverage of 'Lora'. Programming ESP devices featured once. I don't see anything on there that includes IoT and that interests lot of people.So, for the weekend topic lineup, very sorry, but only 2/5 from me.

Sorry to say the lineup looks a bit disappointing to me this time. Simon Lavington is a great historian. I have some of his books, but of all the things he could talk about, what is basically just the history of a software house is a long long way from geek heaven. As for Paul Connell, in my ex day job we dealt a lot with the ODI and him in particular, and our opinion of him was, ermm, somewhat below his own. I used to be willing to sit in a room with people from Oracle and BT only on condition that I was being paid, which no longer applies, and I never in 49 years needed to sit in a room with a mainframe guy from IBM, which somewhat undermines his premise ...
