[Chester LUG] Linux on an ASUS?

Hi Mark,

I've run Ubuntu (normal edition) on a 901 it's worked pretty well. It isn't
blindingly fast but does what you expect from a Netbook. I installed it from
CD using a USB drive. If you like I could bring a drive along to the next
meet (or whenever you could make it) and you can at least have a play with
the live CD before installing.

I don't know if it's the same for your model, but the ones I used had two
SSD cards in them, a more expensive, faster 4gig and a cheaper, slower one
for the rest of the space (this size differed depending on the model). You
shouldn't have any problems installing Ubuntu and most of your apps on the
4gig whilst using the other for data.
