[Chester LUG] Port forwarding to pfSense for VPN

Hi Guys,

I am after a bit of advice on VPNs and port forwarding. I haven't ever set
it up this way but before I spend hours on it I am wondering if anyone has
any similar experiences/helpful advice.

I have my Virgin Media home hub and the wireless etc works fine, not an
issue. However I really want to setup a VPN so I can log in to my network.

I don't want to turn the router into a pass through modem box and buy
additional hardware.

So my question can really be broken down into a couple of parts.

Firstly, if I have my VPN based on pfsense, virtualised and set port
forwarding for VPN ports into my virtual infrastructure, would that work ?

Secondly, is there a way round the dns changing etc and would a no-ip
service be able to work if it was port forwarded?
