[Chester LUG] Skype or whatever

Hi folks,  I've never tried Skype or similar software, but it strikes me 
it could be a useful way of keeping call costs down when say in Europe 
etc.  Please can anyone refer me to a good idiots' guide and also any 
advice on flavours for a dual boot with Windoze, and economic ways to 
hold an account for low usage.  Any advice much appreciated.  Roger.
