[Colchester] USB printing Debian Etch How?

Hello Colchester,

I have been attempting to print to a Minolta DiALTA laser printer at a
customer site from the Debian Etch server I just installed. I know I
have CUPS installed but I don't think the Parallel port printing works
on the server and printer but I know the USB works when plugged in a
Windows box.

From looking at tail of the server /var/log file I can see that it sees
the USB printer being plugged in and out but I can't get CUPS test print
to make a page come out. I have used the CUPS web interface
https://mysvr:631/ but the printer USB is not listed.

I have been searching the Internet for a good procedure to get this
going. I's possible I am missing printers module from the kernal. Has
can anyone give me a good procedure for getting printing going on Debian
Etch. I am pretty sure I can share it if I could only get it to print.

Cheers,
Wayland.
