[cumbria_lug] Linux / Dell Survey

Hi Lee!

I've been subscribed to this list for a long time but have never attended a
meet. Now that the 'hardcore' members seem to have disappeared I'm going to
make an effort to contribute as much as I can to list and who knows...

On the subject of Dells, I use them exclusively but not without some pains.
I've often had problems with network drivers and video drivers and sata
drives but all have been resolved. Most recently my Inspiron 520 worked
(almost) straight out the box with Fedora...

I'm not sure how valuable I'd find a Dell pre-installed machine as I'd be
tempted to blow it away and install my own OS  -  but the drivers coming
with the machine would certainly help. Also a decent Linux suuport service
from Dell would be a bonus. Note I said decent... ;)
