[Deaf-lug] Wake on LAN

The Wake On LAN facility is usually enabled in the BIOS. This machine wakes
with the mouse or keyboard buttons as well (Phoenix BIOS). So you have to
turn it on from there and I think that enables the ports in the LAN card.
To wake from the Internet could be tricky because of all the stray junk
signals flying around. Also having woken it, you need to stop it again
unless you want it to run all the time. YOu could probably set it to
automatically hibernate.
I haven't tried this but perhaps a VPN would cause it to wake when the
router gets a signal for that particular address.
Basically what you are trying to do is turn it on and off remotely and I
think it's probably easier to just leave it running.
