i just saw on distrowatch that there's a new version of Deli Linux out.
.....
"Henry Jensen has announced the release of
DeLi<http://distrowatch.com/deli>Linux 0.8.0, a light-weight desktop
distribution designed for computers with
as little as 32 MB of RAM: "DeLi Linux 0.8.0 is the next big step and the
first release of the 0.8.x branch. The main focus of the 0.8.x series will
be internationalisation. The biggest changes are: switched to UTF-8 as the
default encoding; dropped GTK+ 1.x, switched to GTK+ 2.x (2.10); switched to
the 'pacman' package manager (from Arch Linux); Netsurf or Skipstone as web
browsers; AbiWord 2.4.6 with ODT plugin and Gnumeric 1.6.3; Linux kernel
2.4.36.4, now with LSI Logic support (important for VMware guests).
Unfortunately, the hardware requirements had to be raised: for running the
GUI at least 32 MB of RAM are recommended; a MMX capable processor is
recommended for multimedia applications; a full installation with all
applications requires about 750 MB space on hard disk." Here is the
full release

traitors! traitors to the cause of being LIGHT! it's in your very name...
what's this sudden bloat to double spec requirements. thnx alot for selling
out my old hardware i thought u guys were there with the remit to save it.
what... am i supposed to just dump my old hardware if my dissatisfaction
with my previous deli persists intolerably? ...actually its not my old
hardware, i got it kinda specifically for putting a light linux on it.
can anyone make any suggestions as to an out of the ISO solution for my p133
16mb laptop? Deli was the only thing that would boot before, but now i hear
their test machine has gone up to 32mb, i suspect my wee machine will suffer
for it. what other super light distributions are out there?
i was going to try pud seeing that it has a tiling window manager out of the
box, but it was screaming out for 64mb or something.
any suggestions?

The Universe speaks in many languages, but only one voice. The language is
not Narn, or Human, or Centauri, or Gaim or Minbari. It speaks in the
language of hope; It speaks in the language of trust; It speaks in the
language of strength, and the language of compassion. It is the language of
the heart and the language of the soul. But always, it is the same voice. It
is the voice of our ancestors, speaking through us, And the voice of our
inheritors, waiting to be born. It is the small, still voice that says: We
are one. No matter the blood; skin; world; star; We are one. No matter the
pain; darkness; loss; fear; We are one. Here, gathered together in common
cause. we agree to recognise this singular truth, and this singular rule:
That we must be kind to one another, because each voice enriches us and
ennobles us, and each voice lost diminishes us. We are the voice of the
Universe, the soul of creation, the fire that will light the way to a better
future. We are one.
