This week in the news there has been a lot political rantings about
open source software. Firstly the Obama administration is seeking
advice on open source software:

Now the Conservatives, who commissioned a report on open source
software, are shouting for it. So open source users are not communists

Talking about communists, one former communist country, Russia, looks
like moving totally over to Linux within their educational
infrastructure:

Continuing with Russia, Michael Dell, boss of Dell Computers, tried to
patronise Russian Prime Minister Vladimar Putin in offering to help
the Russian IT industry. Did he get a telling off! Do 100 lines  and 6
lashes of the belt Michael. The next time you do this you will be sent
