[dundee] TV Licensing

It's clever scare tactics that scam money out of a lot of people who do not watch Live TV.

The beeb themselves claim iPlayer on demand content is fine.

Even if you have a TV, you only need a licence if using it to watch Live TV too. I called up to confirm I only use my TV for consoles and DVDs etc, they said that's fine we'll take you off our list - never heard a peep since.

It seems as though they have very limited powers anyway - for example they cannot enter your premises without your permission or search warrant. Do not be tricked into purchasing something you are not legally bound to.

Regards,
Sean McRobbie

I don't believe you need one. If you're only using iPlayer then, as it
says, you don't need it for that because it's not live. You were
probably sent this because they send out a lot of false positives. They
use a scanner from outside and it may well be a neighbour's TV that
they are picking up.
