China will be now be developing its own Linux smartphone to rival Android
with the help of former Google employees (surprise, surprise) .with a market
of 800 million mobile phone users at stake.

 In conjunction with the India news, this leaves me to conclude that the
increased use of open source in devices will be ultimately decided in what
happens in the East rather than what happens in the West.
