Why would anyone expect this to not be a public mailing list?

Surely the fact that there is a link at the bottom of every email that
allows you to click through and browse the archives willy nilly is a
bit of a give away...

Jesus, I hope we don't end up doing something as fruitless and
wastefull as the email confidentiality signatures that plague peoples
emails!
