Those slots are PCI-Express (PCI-e) not PCI, which is completely different.
Both slots are compatible with PCI-e x1 cards which is what that Edimax card
on Misco is.
You should read the article on wikipedia about PCI-e
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express as it explains the compatibility of
the cards and slots.
