You have to wonder at the mentality of "developers" who do this sort of thing: 
why? It harms nobody by leaving it enabled (in this case, but it's probably a 
precursor to removal). It puzzles users who might have read about 
middle-clicking and invalidates lots of documentation.

Don't get me started on the KDE numpties: if I want to install Kgpg for 
certificates, I now have to accept Akonadi which then needs Nepomuk and 
Zeitgeist, MySQL and....well, you get the idea. Also, the idea that a 
key-handling program requires a cache-handler, an indexing / search program 
plus database and an event-logger makes me a little uneasy, for some reason.

Hmmm...luckily, there is an akonadi-fake idea floating around (already 
available for Arch, along with nepomuk-core-fake).
