Personally I use/prefer Rhythmbox which uses the gtk2 interface :-)
just emerge rhythmbox -v as I know you like Gentoo Linux but if your
running it on amd64 add "media-sound/rhythmbox ~amd64"
to /usr/portage/package.keywords and your sorted :-)
