What do you mean by Root Shell.  Do you mean shell scripts?

are you just booting from the CD each time?

Learn LAMP under Linux _first_ . Ask Sean / Martin for help - Read The
Fine Manuals :) Check the LUGOG meeting schedule.  Be prepared to read,
experiment and read again. There are a lot of HOWTO's but you will also
need to be prepared to read man pages, potentially lots of them.
