I am looking into GIMP at the moment, and discovereing that its not a 'poor 
mans photoshop', but distinctly powerful...have only touched on animation with 
it but will be looking at it sometime soon. have done animation in Flash and 
Director so i expect that there ARE SIMILAR TECHNIQUES (OR PERHAPS NOT AS THE 
CASE MAY BE) - TIMELINES, FRAMES ETC. aNyway that hasn't been a great 
help...but as said, will be looking at it sometime soon...
